Thus, I discovered that the roof of the GTL building was unlocked and decided to venture out in the hope of getting some good sunset pictures. Hopefully this won't incriminate me, but I don't really care. ;)
This is Borny, the neighborhood/quartier near the Technopôle. The
highrise apartments are pretty representative of the housing there,
but it's a neat community. Borny (along with GTL students) supports a
decent Kebab stand, post office, bakery, drugstore, and quite a few
other things.

This is a view of the jail across rue de Strasbourg from GTL. It's
basically a low-security local correctional facility; I get the
impression that it services Metz and the surrounding area
only. Besides having interesting architecture, it's been a good
neighbor so far.

These are the France Telecom (TDF) satellite dishes.

And this is the tower they have on the top. It has a cell site and
quite a few link antennae, but nothing else too interesting. A lot of
the equipment is similar to what's up on top of Mont St. Quentin and
the Eiffel tower, which isn't too surprising.

This is a control panel for the HVAC stuff on the roof of GTL. I'm
going to assume that it's more HV and less AC, but that's just because
of the climate here.

These are some of the valves.

And these appear to be heaters.

This is me, taken with the silly tripod I bought in germany for 10,-

The GTL entrance driveway (ALOES is visible across lac Symphonie).

This was an attempt at art. The windows here are all fairly well
designed to reflect sunlight for energy efficiency.

The rest of these pictures are just some of the sunset shots that I
took. The weather can be really beautiful around here sometimes.
